MILAN, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Italy's Fiat
(FIA.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) and Ford Motor Co (F.N: Quote,
Profile, Research) have signed a final agreement to cooperate
on development and production of small cars, the two automakers
said in a statement.
Fiat and Ford said in September that they had agreed in principle
to work together on developing two small vehicles for the European
car market.
"The two vehicles planned for development, the new Fiat 500
and a replacement for the current Ford Ka in Europe, will play
a significant role in each company's European product range,"
the joint statement said.
