By Air
Bologna international airport is named
Guglielmo Marconi. The airport is very close to the city at
about 6 km and is very well serviced by European flights as well
as low cost airlines. The second nearest international airport
is located in Forli? some 70 km southeast of Bologna. Both
airports are well serviced by buses and taxis to and for the
city centre. A special shuttle (Aerobus) connect the Airport of
Bologna (Marconi) to the city, leaving from Bologna Train
Station every 15 minutes from early morning (5.30) to at around
11.00 pm (23.00) at night.
By Car
Bologna is very well linked with all major
Italian cities.
With Milan, Florence, and Rome the city is
linked by the motorway A1 Autostrada del sole. Motorway A13
heads to Ferrara, Padua, and Venice. Motorway A14 heads to
Rimini and Ravenna, while the road S64 goes directly to Ferrara.
Bologna is also being crossed by the ?Via
Emilia? (S9), which connects Milan to the Adriatic coast.

By Train
Bologna train station is one of the biggest
and served in Italy being the major transport junction for north
and central Italy to the south. For train times check at

Transports in Bologna city centre
Bologna is not served by an underground
service. The Bus system in Bologna is serviced by the ATC (www.atc.bo.it)
which run the city very efficiently. The main buses that connect
the train station to the city centre are bus No 30 and No 21
together with several others.
Bologna city centre is traffic free therefore
off-limit to cars and motorcycle.
The best way to visit Bologna and experience
the Italian culture is indeed by Public Transport and also by
bike which are hired next to the train station.
